Just for Mitchell

My boyfriend and I like to write cute notes back and forth to each other because he likes to appeal to the girly side of me and I like to make him feel special. So as a surprise, Mitchell, I am posting my cute note to you on my blog. :) I hope that is okay!

Mitchell,
Life often gives us lemons (though I would prefer peaches or pumpkin pie haha). What it often does not give us is sugar and water :). But when you seem the most discouraged, when you have expended every possibility, every option and still come up empty handed, you know that the only lasting comfort that can be found is on your knees as you ask God for help. I love that even when things aren't going the way you want them to, you still have a sense of humor that gets me every time! Your smile and positivity is contagious. Just remember that "This parking space is already taken" ;).

I like you a lot!
Kristi

P.S. Check out this really really really funny music video! I hope it will make you feel better.

The Best Friend-Boy to Ever Remember that My Favorite Fruit is Peaches

I literally have the best friend-boy (Mitchell) ever. After helping me study for an Abnormal Psychology exam that I completely bombed... I told him I was moving to Chicago to study at an Art Institute haha. He asked when he could take me there and I said yesterday. We agreed we'd leave at midnight haha. I ended up needing to get a pair of khaki pants so on our way he stopped in the middle of my complex. Our conversation went a little like this haha...

Mitchell: "What's that?"
Midge: "... What?"
Mitchell: "Over there by the light!"
Midge: "I don't know!"
Mitchell: "Well go check it out! It's your apartment complex!"
Midge: "What are you talking about?!"
Mitchell: "Just go!"
Shoves me out of his car.

So I walk over to what ever it was he was pointing at and saw this on the ground:

It was the most awesome thing that's ever happened to me! And he remembered my favorite fruit! "Can life get any better?! I submit that it cannot!" (Brian Regan).

Thanks, Mitchell!

Check out this funny song about my favorite fruit, it is quite hilarious.

Thought of You

I am in an art class this semester and part of today's homework was watching an short animated clip and describing what we felt it meant. The clip is truly beautiful and I wanted to share it on my blog. What ever you are doing, take a few minutes to watch it.

One Track Mind

I love chocolate for so many reasons. The biggest reason is mostly because I believe it can heal a broken heart. It's the best kind of therapy! (That and watching every movie Christian Bale has ever made). So when I saw this commercial I immediately loved it. I love chocolate, men in pink, and am wildly attracted to Spaniards. Jeez... what more do you need from life?!

You're my hero Ms. Brown! Ms. Brown is a strong, independent woman who doesn't need a man to complete her... but knows an attractive man when she sees one! haha

Part Two: How to Sew A Disappearing Nine

Part Two:
Now that your Disappearing Nine Pattern has been patched, it's time to create your own perfect Crab Shack!

The Designers - Brandy and Brittany - want to illustrate to different ways to create a Disappearing Nine. Each way is unique and characteristic of the designer herself!

1 - And Thus It Begins
Start by arranging your Disappearing Nine blocks on a design wall. And just a heads up, if you leave your blocks on the design wall for too long, your mother might call the Sister Missionaries to finish your quilt! ... This may or may not have happened to Brittany!

Remember, there's no wrong way to design a quilt!

2 - The Perfect Sash and Border
Sashing will merely make your quilt bigger, and in our expert opinions, cuter! Brandy decided to make a border around her blocks with a thick navy Chevron print.

For Brandy's Design, start by sewing a square of Lucy's Crab Shack to each end of the Chevron strips.

The width of your border is up to your discretion. After your squares are sewn on, you're ready to attach the border.

For Brittany's Design, start by cutting 2 inch strips of colored material to compliment your Crab Shack. Brittany has chosen white.

Sew your strips around the border of each block, as shown in the finished product above.

Believe it or not... You're finished! These are just two different ways to design a Disappearing Nine; remember, you can exercise your creative juices in a way that harnesses your own personality.

Thank you for following the last part of "How to Sew A Disappearing Nine." And a big thank you to:

Part One: How to Sew a Disappearing Nine

It's time to put the spice back in sewing tutorials. So grab a machine and hold on to your material, ladies! It's time for a Disappearing Nine.

Part One:
It's important to remember that sewing is universal. Whether ADD... or OCD... sewing is for everyone.

ADD - Brittany

OCD - Brandy

1 - Juice Up Your Creativity
Start by arranging your material into blocks. Three Charm squares across and three Charm squares down.

2 - Get Ready... Get Pinned... Start Your Sewing Machine!
When you have a block of material arranged, start sewing the rows together.

Pin your Charm squares facing each other and sew a quarter inch from the edge.

Repeat this until you have sewn each of your three rows individually.

3 - It's Gettin' Hott in Here... So Iron All Yo' Rows!
Once your rows have been sewn, iron the seams in opposite directions like so:

Before

 After

4 - Turn Your Rows Into Blocks
Sew each row together. Again, sewing a quarter inch from the edge.

*Don't forget to iron down your seams as you go! For the individual squares, the seams need to go in opposite directions but the rows on the whole block can be ironed the same direction (see picture above).

5 - Rearrange, Re Pin, Repeat!
Repeat steps one through four until all of your Charm squares are gone!

6 - Cut the  Cheese ... I mean Block!
Now that your squares are nicely arranged and neatly sewed, it's time to make them "disappear!" Cut each block horizontally and vertically, like so:

7 - Design Your Nine
Your squares should now be cute and random. Once everything is cut, start placing them together to form the top of your quilt. Remember: Disappearing Nine Patters can be designed many different ways! Here's a few pictures to illustrate our genius:

Randomized Directions

Largest Squares are Centered

Largest Squares Become the Corners

Thank you so much for following Part One of our "Disappearing Nine" Tutorial! Stay updated for Part Two, coming soon.

And a great big Thank You to:

Divine Signatures

I recently started reading Divine Signatures by Gerald Lund. He discusses from his own experience, and the experience of others, how we can build faith and strengthen our testimony through God's divine signature. This excerpt from the book illustrates Lund's definition of a divine signature:
God loves His children and it pleases Him to bless them, especially when they are striving to do His will. These blessings, also called "tender mercies", come in many different forms and in many different ways. Sometimes, the Lord sends His blessings in such a highly unusual, dramatic, or precisely timed manner, that it might be likened to a "divine signature." It is as though the Lord "signs" the blessing personally so that we will know with certainty that it comes from Him. In doing so, God not only gives us the blessing, but at the same time, He also strengthens our faith and deepens our testimony of Him.
Lund goes on to explain tender mercies in our lives and how we are able to recognize them. He speaks of mercy in the midst of affliction, quoting Doctrine & Covenants 100:15 which states, "all things wherewith you have been afflicted shall work together for your good" (emphasis added). I have personally read this scripture many times. But this time I stopped to ponder. I often think that the trials I have been called to bare are to individually teach me a lesson. Maybe this is not so much the case. As the scripture says, all things shall work together for our good. Perhaps it is the culmination of affliction over the course of life that brings us the good we need. For me it is so hard to see the "good" in mid hardship. I know I am not alone in this. But what I understand now is we often don't see the benefit of affliction until the passage of time has healed our hearts and opened our eyes to the beauty of the refiner's fire. How wonderful this is. What a marvelous mercy God bestows on us, not out of spite, but out of a love so great, our mortal minds can't comprehend. After all, it is life itself that gives us the experience necessary for the eternities.

What a beautiful realization this has been today. Divine Signatures by Gerald Lund (author of the fictional series, The Work and The Glory) comes highly recommended by me! You can find it at a Deseret Book Store near you or online at www.DeseretBook.com. If you are not a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and would like to find the scriptures I referenced, you can look them up at www.lds.org, or as always, ask your Mormon Neighbor!

Meanwhile... Back In Utah

I am back in Utah! After spending over twelve hours in various airports, dealing with traveling standby and planes that smell like rotten body odor... I am back! And let me just say, I have never been so happy to be back after all of that shananigans. I did meet a nice man on the plane from San Francisco to Salt Lake City though. I don't know his name, I never asked, but he graduated from BYU Hawaii so we talked about that for a while. He asked me if this was my first year at college... HAHA! I laughed and said it was my third year, I just look really young. (Never mind that I am young... we'll just skip that part, haha).

It's weird to think that just ten hours ago I was still in the air. Now I'm resuming my unproductive/non-exciting life while listening to John Mayer's newest CD. - Which is wonderful by the way, everyone should check it out. My favorite is Something Like Olivia.

Arizona was great. I'll miss the heat, surprisingly. I'll miss laughing at my Grandpa's crazy sayings and hearing all of my Grandma's adventures as a Las Vegas flight attendant. I'm just missing Arizona period. But I know Utah will be good to me... maybe. Until it's time to leave for Idaho to visit Brittany for a the Fourth of July! All in all... one chapter of my summer is closing as another opens. We'll see how it turns out! I know I'm excited.

These last three years... I know they've been hard. But now it's time to get out of the Desert and into the sun. Even if it's alone. ~The Format

Sauce and Meatballs

I know this is quite a weird post, and doesn't go with the general theme of my blog... but I'm going to publish it anyway! I like to post things about my personality and things I find interesting so on that note, I am sharing my Sauce and Meatball recipe today.

Step One: Preparation
Cut onion, use as much or as little as you would like. I usually use a little less than half of a large sized, white onion.
Slice garlic, to taste. You can chop the garlic real fine or grate it, which ever you prefer.
Chop Italian Parsley. You never know how much you're going to use so chop more than you think you'll need.

Step Two: Throwing it Together
Sautee the onions with Extra Virgin Olive Oil until transparent in the same pot you are making sauce in.
When the onions are nearly finished, throw the garlic in as well. Don't let the garlic get brown!
After everything has been cut and the onions are sauteeing, it's time to start the tomatoes. On a day I'm feeling ambitious, I will boil down whole, fresh tomatoes until the skin starts to peel. Once it's started to peel, run them under cold water and sluff off the rest of the skin. Make sure to pit the tomatoes before throwing them back into the pot. This is done the best by slicing around the top and pulling out the core.
Now, on a day I am not feeling so ambitious, I will use a big can of whole, stewed tomatoes. Pit these the same way and rinse the seeds off.
After following either option, put the tomatoes in the pot with the onions and let them boil down for about 20-30 minutes on medium heat. Stir to keep from burning.

Step Three: Adding Sauce
After boiling the tomatoes for a while, start adding canned sauce. Today I added four family sized cans of Hunt's tomato sauce. (Be sure it is the sauce that has not been prepared.)
Next, add three small cans of tomato paste to thicken the sauce. Note: you can add as little or as much tomato paste as you want. The consistency is to your own preference.
You may also need to add a couple cups of water if your sauce is too thick. It's ok! You're allowed to add it.
Cook the sauce on a temperature that allows the sauce to slowly boil. Usually this is medium to medium-low heat.

Step Four: Season it!
And now it's time for some fun!
The seasonings I use are Basil, Oregano, Italian Parsley, Salt, Pepper, and ... Brown Sugar.
I always use more Oregano than anything else. Italian Parsley is next and is always a close second in quantity. I use half as much Basil as Oregano, because I don't care too much for an over powering taste of basil. Pepper and Salt to taste. Make sure to taste the sauce before putting in your salt. It may not need any depending on the type of canned sauce you use. And last but not least, the Brown Sugar. Add three or four good pinches and you're done!

Step Five: Momma's Meatballs
I'm convinced that my mother makes the best meatballs... because she does! This is how she does it:
Today I used two pounds of lean ground beef. Put it in a giant mixing bowl. Next, grate two slices of bread (do not toast it first, yes it will grate I promise). Take your time grating the bread, you don't want the crumbs too big. Add two eggs, Italian Parsley, salt and pepper. (I added Oregano and a few onions today as well).

Once everything has been added to the bowl, squeeze the meat with your hands! Make sure the meat is evenly mixed with all the ingredients. Now it's time to roll the meat. Make balls the size of my palm, haha. Like so:

A nice size golf ball, if you will.
Once the sauce is boiling, drop the meatballs in the pot. My mom always drops them in an even circle so they don't stick together. They will sink to the bottom as you add more circles of meatballs. Like so:

After the meatballs have been put in the sauce, cook for 3 hours on medium low. Make sure that the sauce slowly boils for the full three hours.

And as always, listen to some nice Italian music! ;)

Have fun! And I hope you enjoy the recipe! We sure enjoyed it tonight.

Moments That Matter Most

Today I caught myself doing something of which so many of us find ourselves guilty. My sisters are in town visiting me here in El Mirage. Little Julianna (who's not so little anymore), came up to me and said, "Kristi, can I show you a song I wrote on the piano?!" She was so excited and in my hastiness to finish a chapter of the book I am reading I said, "Not now, Julianna." I resumed reading for a short minute before I realized that moments like these happen every day. I paused long enough to know that not letting another one pass me by is well worth the two minutes my little sister required of my time. I walked into my Grandmother's piano room and Jules turned around with the biggest smile on her face and played her song. She felt satisfied and I felt enlightened with the knowledge that life's simplest moments, the moments that pass us by, are the moments that are most important.

Find Me

"Find Me" By Hilary Weeks
I tuck the pain away...
So deep, that no one else could see it.
I guess I believe if I buried it, I wouldn't have to feel it.
I tried to run...
I tried to hide...
But the shadows seemed to follow me.

Lord, would you please...
Find me...
In my hidden places.
Come find me...
Even where the shadows hide.
Strike a match, bring a torch.
Illuminate this deep divide and find me...

I tried a hundred times,
to find my way out of the darkness.
But every road I took was leading me right back where I started.
A place too deep...
Somewhere too far...
I'm in desperate need of rescuing.

Lord, would you please...
Find me...

In my hidden places.
Come find me...
Even where the shadows hide.
Strike a match, bring a torch.
Illuminate this deep divide and find me...

Lord, would you please...
Find me...

In my hidden places.
Come find me...
Even where the shadows hide.
Strike a match, bring a torch.
Illuminate this deep divide and find me...

Today was a harder day than most. I listened to this song by Hilary Weeks and I felt as if my soul was singing with hers. I realized today that sometimes our trials seem to last forever. Sometimes I just want to plead the Lord for a break. But after thinking this through, I realized that we don't always have all the answers. We don't always know what the best way is. And God, being the merciful Lord He is, allows us to hurt and feel pain that we may be made stronger. Does this knowledge make our trials any easier? No. It doesn't. But it makes it easier to bare.

I've never allowed myself to be vulnerable on my blog before. But for some reason, I feel like sharing a very vulnerable piece of my heart. I try very hard to stay light-hearted. I try to keep up a good sense of humor when times are hard. But the truth is, I get sad and hurt just like anyone else. I think the biggest cross I've been called to bare in this life is loneliness. At times it grips my heart and despair overshadows my hope of a brighter future. Struggling through life's unavoidable disappointments, I cling to the faith that God has not forsaken me. I've learned truly, that in my darkest moments... when I feel that I'm too far gone for God to hear me, I remember that though I may stray from Him, He is never too far from me. And in turning back to Him, He invites me in to His outstretched hand, asking me to put my trust in Him. A leap of faith, a surrender of my stubborn will, the courage to walk ahead, even when I cannot see the way - these are His conditions. This is what He asks. And when I remember to be strong, when I remember that I am His daughter... I can feel the loneliness lift, for however brief... for however long... it lifts enough for me to breathe another day. And in this relief, I am reminded that God does grant us mercies. I pray that each of us will come to the knowledge that in our deepest darkness, Christ will give us light.

The Bachelorette is Back!

The Bachelorette is back! Check out my new page for this summer's season of Emily's whirl wind romance. I know so many people hate this show, I used to be one of them. But I finally succumbed last year to the Bachelorette's journey to find true love. Why do I like the Bachelorette so much? I think the more important question is, why do I like love stories so much?! That's what the Bachelorette is! A whirl wind love story. Sure, it may not be traditional, it's filled with drama, it's definitely a modern approach to love... but it's exciting and fun and every season I'm reminded that following your heart is the only way to navigate through the obstacles love throws in our way. Happy Husband-Hunting, Emily!

Can't wait for next week!

A Stroke of Luck

Ladies and Gentlemen, I believe we have a winner. After a couple grueling years of awkward dates, failed attempts and embarrassing moments... I am going on a second date. His name is Josh. I cannot wait to go out again! We'll see if my stroke of luck proves to be a winning streak :).

Other than that, things are going great in El Mirage. I love spending time with my grandparents and laughing with my cousins about Richard Babcock. I'm enjoying the heat and love the palm trees! I haven't been able to enjoy a good sunset yet, but maybe there's a good one coming this week. My sisters should be here in a couple of weeks to spend some time here as well! Although I know that there are life-stressors that I cannot shake, I'm feeling calm and continuing in the knowledge that all things will work out in the end.

I'd say this summer is a season of luck, a changing tide, a chance to escape and enjoy some of life's happiness I've seemed to forgotten.

Karma

I'm thinking that I'm working some seriously good karma in my freshly painted lavender toes here. I am actually going on two dates this week. I know, right?! That is more than I had all last semester... pathetic. I know. Don't judge me.

My cousin and I are going shopping for a killer date outfit in a few days. Can't wait! I'm thinking neutral colors (don't want to be overbearing), skinny ankle jeans with a creamy flowy tunic, printed flats and a bold colored clutch. ... But I'm open to trying something slightly bolder... We shall see :).

The following clip best describes my emotions at this exact moment:

The Social Network

My thoughts on social networking are complicated. I don't like social networking. I don't really know why. I think a lot of it stems from not wanting to give in to mass conformity simply because "everyone else is doing it". However, I don't want to get left behind in today's world of fast paced technology. At the same time though... I feel as though social networking is pointless. It's a large waste of time and though it's nice to get in contact with random people you haven't seen or talked to since elementary school... I'm just not sure I'm willing to give in just yet.

I posted a poll for the past few weeks asking people that read my blog if I should join Twitter or not. (The poll proved successful... not). I think for now I'll shy away from urges to tweet :). Call me old fashioned, traditional, out of touch with technology... whatever. I enjoy freedom from conformity.

Mighty Midge - Melting in El Mirage

Last year I spent the summer in Alaska. Can't believe that was a whole year ago! Well, this year I'm living with my grandparents in El Mirage, Arizona! Talk about one extreme climate to the next. It's been great so far and surprisingly, I love the heat!

So my best friend is getting married. It's been killing me having to wait to post it! Beaves is getting married and I'm the Maid of Honor! I'm excited with the planning and coordinating for an August wedding.

Keep checking for more details about the wedding!

Ode to BYU Reading Days

Today is the first day of Reading Days. Two days where BYU students basically get the day off to study for finals. Do we really use them to study? ... Good question. Let's take a look at BYU's daily newspaper, The Daily Universe.

Are reading days for reading?

BYU sets aside two days for exam preparation, but students don't always use the day for what its intended

BYU sets reading days as a time for students to go to review sessions and prepare for their finals. Rather than studying during reading days, Stephanie Lee has decided to jump out of a plane.
Reading days offer students a great deal of time for exam preparation, but many students choose to disregard the invitation to study for other pursuits. Some students use it as a day to rest and recharge, while others use it as a chance to play.
Previous to this semester, Lee, an economics major from Calgary, Alberta, used reading days in the conventional manner. She slept in, attended review sessions and set up study groups to get ready for exam time. This semester, she and her roommate found a Groupon deal for 50 percent off on skydiving.
Chris Bunker
The Daily Universe takes an inside look at what students do during reading days.
“This is probably the first time I’ve made plans to do something other than study on reading days,” Lee said.
Lee isn’t the first BYU student to go skydiving during reading days. Last year a group of her friends went skydiving and this year they are going paragliding. Lee believes the lack of holidays in the second half of the winter semester contribute to students’ desires to go out and have adventures.
“Especially in winter semester, your reading days are really the first break from school you’ve had in a couple of months,” Lee said. “When the weather starts getting nicer you really want to take advantage of being outside, and the last thing you want to do is study.”
Whitney Hanks, a senior studying linguistics, said she believes students use reading days for fun because BYU doesn’t offer a spring break. While other people go out and do crazy things, she prefers to use reading day for reading non-academic material.
“I kind of like the chance to read a book for fun that’s not a school book,” Hanks said.
While other students are out playing, Brad Nichols, a student from Lindon studying accounting, tries to spend as much time as he can studying during reading days. While his roommates try to put in about four hours of studying, Nichols nearly doubles that number, doing seven to eight hours of studying each day during reading days. Rather than staying at home and watching people around him go out and play, Nichols finds a study room on campus and gets to work.
“Most of the time I just get a study group and we’ll study pretty much the whole time together,” Nichols said. “I guess it makes it easier.”
Trevor Bateman, an economics major from Colville, Wash., has spent every winter semester reading day on the golf course since coming to BYU. While Bateman enjoys his time on the golf course, he would rather either substitute reading days for a spring break or cancel reading days altogether.
“I personally would be OK with cutting down reading days and having finals right after classes,” Bateman said.

So what did I do today? I slept in until 11:30, went with Beaves to get her hair cut, watched a movie, and went to work. I had intentions of studying at work today. But now it is nearly 7:30PM and I have completed 5 questions for my New Testament Study Guide. But, Hey! I feel more productive than the girl that went skydiving today so I think I'm in good shape ;).

Krispy Kreme Guy

I finally did something that is worthy of making my "Stepping Out of the Ordinary 2012" page!

This past Sunday my best friend, Sarah realized she forgot all of her research materials in South Jordan at her grandparents house. Unfortunately she needed the research for her class the next day! So at 12:30am we decided to make our sojourn to South Jordan. (It's only 30 minutes from us, no big deal at all.) So I'm driving us up and we get back into Provo at about 1:30am. I look over at Sarah and asked her if she wanted to eat anything. I mean... we just drove for an hour. I definitely think that's deserving of a cheeseburger! But being the responsible adult Sarah is, she replied, "Well everything that's open at 1:30 in the morning I shouldn't be eating at 1:30 in the morning..." So naturally I proposed that we go to Krispy Kreme.

We pull up to the drive through and tell the guy that we need a couple minutes. After about three seconds of deliberation we decide that we only want two doughnuts. So I start my order and ask the guy at the drive through for two doughnuts... to which he replied, "Seriously? ... It's 1:30 in the morning and you only want two doughnuts?" I retorted with, "Yupp, that's all I want." He then asked at least two more times if I wanted more doughnuts. Sarah and I were laughing so hard we could barely contain ourselves. Why? I think it mostly had to do with the fact that it was nearly two in the morning! So while we're pulling up to the window, I look at Sarah and say, "Sarah! If this guy is cute, I should totally give him my number!" She screamed, "DO IT!" We get up to the window and I give him my card. He gives me the receipt that I need to sign and Sarah keeps telling me to put my number on the bottom but I'm too chicken so I can't do it. I give him back the receipt and he gives me a box of doughnuts and says, "Alright ladies, I gave you six doughnuts for the price of two. Just don't tell anyone! Have a great night!" At this point Sarah is inches from punching me in the arm for not giving him my number haha. I pull out of the Krispy Kreme and stop at the stop sign. Sarah is yelling at me to turn around so we sit in the car for literally ten minutes deciding what to say when we go back through the drive through! We came to a conclusion and I turned the car around! We get up to the intercom and he asks us how many doughnuts we want and that's when the following conversation transpires:

"Hey! It's David right?!," I said.
"Yeah it is!," says David.
"Well, David, we just came through here and I realized that I forgot to give you my phone number. I was wondering if you wanted it!" (my silky suave reply!)
"Oh you forgot, huh?!"
"Yeah! I did!" I said.
"Haha, well why don't you pull up to the window?"

Sarah and I are laughing so hard at this point that I'm pretty sure Beaves has pee on the front seats of her car! We pull up to the window and I hand him the receipt that has my number and name on the back of it. He says my name is pretty and then tells me he's glad I remembered to give him my number. We say goodbye and Sarah and I pull away screaming and feeling like we're invincible. (This is why we shouldn't be allowed out of the house after midnight haha).

As we're driving home David actually texted me! We screamed so loud I swear you could have heard us outside of the car. The next day David and I continued a pretty lengthy conversation and I think we might go on a date sometime next week. Needless to say - it was the funniest night of my life and I'm so proud of myself for actually turning around and giving my number out haha.

Story of My Life

You know it's been one of those days when you sit down on the toilet and forget to pull your pants down... Please tell me I'm not the only one that's done this.

New favorite song of the week: "Call Me Maybe" (yes, the song is way preppy and way pop. Don't judge me.)

The music video is literally the story of my life. Check it out!

New Advancements

Today I realized that I am at the close of my Sophomore year in college. This means I have two years left to do an Internship, research with a professor on campus, take the GRE and apply to Graduate School. Talk about an anxiety attack. I'm looking into Marriage and Family Therapy programs around... well the whole U.S. to be honest. Because I'm such a freak about organization I started a dorky Excel spreadsheet with all of my findings. The last category (among average GPA and admittance rate) is "Distance to Nearest Beach." Gotta love college.

Top Picks for MFT programs right now include: Brigham Young University (that would be so nice just to stay here... especially because tuition is literally one-fourth of the cost of everywhere else), Syracuse University in New York, University of Miami in Florida, and Utah State University in Logan. I'm looking into schools in Virginia because it's my favorite place in the U.S.! I'm also looking into programs in Arizona as well. We'll see. I just feel like... at the moment nothing feels right except New York. Weird huh? Never thought I would end up there!

I feel as though this is happening so fast. But I guess that's what happens when you grow up. I'm not quite ready to leave the little bubble of Provo, Utah and venture out into the world. I guess it's good that I have two more years left.

Unfortunately I don't have anything funny to report - or philosophical. Maybe next time! Wish me luck on the Grad School Search!

Isn't it Ironic

The awkward moment when the guy you like is interested in your best friend.

I can't fall asleep so I wanted to watch a movie. The only thing in my bedroom was He's Just Not That Into You. Oh, the irony.

I decided to watch Lord of the Rings instead. Great conditioning.

On tomorrow's agenda: search for local convents.

My feelings would best be described through a hilarious clip of He's Just Not That Into You:
